The World Trade Centre has played a pivotal role in the growth of international trade for the Middle East, ever since its inauguration in 1979. Then, it was through the landmark 39-storey Sheikh Rashid Tower. Today it is the region’s largest purpose-built complex for events and exhibitions, conveniently located in the very middle of the City, between old and new Dubai, within minutes of driving to such world-famous locations, as Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Frame.
The epicentre for business tourism in the region, we power the MICE sector through its size, resources, diversity of calendar and scale of events. As well as connecting people through the events host there, World Trade Center plays a major role within Dubai’s economy, attracting revenue for the city’s sights, restaurants and hotels. Each year, DWTC events create more than 25,000 jobs or 36,000 including ancillary sectors that benefit from our events.
Over the years, the Dubai World Trade Centre has been gradually extended to include Exhibition Halls, Sheikh Rashid Hall and Maktoum Hall as well as the Al Mulaqua Ballroom, Sheikh Saeed Halls, Za’abeel Halls and the Trade Centre Arena. In addition, commercial buildings have been added including the Convention Tower and the One Central development with several mixed-use buildings. Furthermore, there are a number hotels in the complex to accommodate its guests – Novotel DWTC, IBIS DWTC, IBIS One Central, as well as Jumeirah Living Residence.
