The heritage of this Parisian tea room is about as far-flung as it gets from The Dubai Mall. Having first opened in 1903 in the French capital, the original Angelina boasted regulars in the ilk of Coco Chanel, making this chic café a neat fit for the mall’s Fashion Avenue. The outer edge of the venue is artfully designed to create that Parisian pavement café illusion. Inside, there’s an imposing patisserie counter and a dining room decorated with hefty wooden tables and chandeliers.
The service is polite and friendly, but as the café is often busy, it can be a bit slow. The menu offers breakfast dishes, French-Italian bistro fare and plenty of desserts from the patisserie counter. Angelina is a pleasant spot for a Parisian-style cake and coffee experience. The savory menu, setting and service are also by no means offensive, but it’s unlikely that you’ll follow in Chanel’s footsteps and become a regular at this branch.
