At first glance, the Al Quoz industrial area is the exact opposite of tourist attractions. But behind the facade of dusty streets and huge industrial warehouses is a vibrant world of art galleries, boutiques, photo studios and theater venues.
In this area, you can find something interesting and unusual almost at every step. There are eco-souvenir shops, a trampoline park, coffee roasteries and even a chocolate factory. In addition, the area is full of atmospheric cafes and trendy restaurants.
Alserkal Avenue is the main artery of the Al Qouz area. The former industrial warehouses house modern art galleries displaying works by famous and emerging artists from the Middle East. A variety of events are regularly held here, from independent film screenings and drawing workshops to trendy parties.
Al Qouz is also home to The Courtyard, a community center built in the 1990s by the famous architect Dariusz Zandi. The inner courtyard of the center houses 10 buildings, each with a unique façade reflecting the beauty of Arab architecture.
There are numerous souvenir shops, handicraft boutiques, art galleries and even a small amateur theater.
