One of the most influential indie-rock bands in Russia, Mumiy Troll will be performing at Coca-Cola Arena on 4th September 2021, marking the official launch of Expo 2020’s Russian Pavilion cultural programme.

Must be fully vaccinated to attend.

Mumiy Troll band has been playing gigs all across the globe: from Siberia to the Baltics and Mongolia to Shanghai. Now the band is ready to bring their biggest hits along with the new ones to the fans in Dubai! The guests will have a chance to hear the band’s own sophisticated sound – blending alternative rock with indie, folk and electronic tunes. The programme will also feature some of the best examples of Russian modern art.

Mumiy Troll has revolutionised Russian music since its emergence on the scene in the 1980s. They have set a new standard for Russian songwriting, combining British rock and pop influences with Asiatic lyricism. Created in Vladivostok, this formula became a sensation, which helped Mumiy Troll establish themselves as one of the most influential bands in Russia.

Ilya Lagutenko, the founder of the group, is still its frontman. Moreover, Ilya is a passionate eco-fighter and a rescuer of whales. The singer and songwriter has also an authority on modern art – NFT, in particular.

‘From Russia with Mumiy Troll’ concert will mark the official presentation of the Russian Pavilion’s cultural programme at Expo 2020 in Dubai. Taking place from 1 October 2021 until 31 March 2022, Expo 2020 is the first world expo to take place in the Middle East and Africa region. Across the six months of the event, over 25 million visitors are expected and a record-breaking number of countries – 192 in total – will be taking part, making Expo 2020 the biggest in the 170-year history of the event. With the theme “Connecting minds, creating the future”, Expo 2020 in Dubai will be, quite simply, the world’s greatest show.

The theme of the Russian Pavilion at Expo 2020 is “Creative mind: driving the future”. Inside, visitors to the pavilion will learn about the scientific and cultural achievements of the past, but also – and just as importantly – about how the creative mind can build a future to benefit all humanity, introducing visitors to the latest achievements of Russian creativity. Combined with a wide-ranging business and cultural programme, the pavilion will show the world the many faces of Russia: diverse, youthful, bright, creative, beautiful.
