The World Expo main aim is not only to demonstrate the latest achievements in the various fields, but to help people better understand the industry, science and technology, culture and ethnicity and feel how to reconnect with nature using wisdom, tolerance and cooperation. In 1851, the first World Expo in its truest sense was held in London. The British government through diplomatic means invited various countries to participate. The event was a gathering of different nations to showcase their products and craftsmanship, to share with pride information about their hometowns and motherlands. It was the event of epoch-making significance as it opened the way for showcasing leading industrial and technological achievements from all over the world.
Countries all over the world were passionate about holding the World Expo due to its huge appeal. In 1928, in an effort to standardize and regulate the bidding for the World Expo, as well as the exhibition procedures, France initiated the formation of the Bureau of International Exhibitions (BIE) in accordance with a diplomatic treaty. Currently, the BIE has 98 member countries from various continents.
This year the Expo 2020 Exhibition was scheduled to take place in Dubai from October 20, 2020 and last until April 10, 2021. Sadly, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed for one year, and the new dates became October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. Nevertheless, the planned scale of the event remained the same. The city that would host the exhibition was determined by voting at the General Assembly on 27 November 2013 in Paris, and it is the first time such enormous event will be held in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region history.

The venue for the World Expo 2020 is the new Dubai Trade Center with an area of 438 hectares, designed specifically for the exhibition. Its location is just a few minutes away from the new Al Maktoum International Airport, equidistant from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Expo 2020 Dubai expects 25 million international guests to be visited. Actually, it going to be the first World Expo ever where most of the visitors will be arriving from abroad. World Expo will host guests from all over the world for 173 days, each day will be filled with new experiences. Amazing discoveries, incredible things, unexpected tastes, and fantastic entertainment await for its visitors.
For culinary gourmands there will be over 200 food courts available at the Expo 2020. It will offer different cafes and restaurants from all around the world.
