Sakamkam Fort was built on the length of a hill in the center of a village by the same name. The building has been restored in recent years.
The fort has a round watchtower, with added to its west side 2 enclosures separated by 2 buildings. It showcases the views of the modern Fujairah City, where Fujairah Fort is located.
Sakamkam Fort is close to the Fujairah Free Zone, to the east. At present, the fort is freely accessible. It is not signposted and there are only unpaved roads leading up to it.
