The Dubai branch displayed 60 sculptures of “global stars”, including football sensation Lionel Messi, cricketer Virat Kohli, and pop singer Rihanna. And about 15 were from the region including Lebanese pop stars Nancy Ajram and Maya Diab.
Originally Madame Tussauds started in London and is now one of the most visited attractions. Currently, Madame Tussauds has locations all around the globe including Amsterdam, Bangkok, Beijing, Berlin, Delhi, Hollywood, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Las Vegas, London, New York, Orlando, San Francisco, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Washington DC, and Wuhan. And now, Dubai has got a Madame Tussauds museum at the Bluewaters island in front of JBR beach.
Guests can get up-close and personal with A-list celebrities, sporting legends, political heavyweights, and historical icons including the rulers of the UAE and Dubai. The exhibits will be regularly updated and reviewed as celebrities come to prominence or are just forgotten about. Celebrities know they have “made it” when Madame Tussauds invites them to pose for a waxwork to be created. The incredibly lifelike figures are created by world-renowned sculptors, use the same techniques as Madame Tussauds herself did 200 years ago.
