Ain Dubai is now 250 meters with 48 passenger capsules providing a 360-degree view of Bluewaters Island, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa, and the city’s coastline over the Arabian Gulf.
A standard pod will be capable of holding up to 40 passengers, with sitting benches and enough space for walking around. The total capacity will include 1750 people. However, due to Covid-19 regulations, the maximum capacity will be 7 guests per cabin or 10 of the same group.
Each rotation of the wheel will last for around 38 minutes. All the guests are advised to come in advance to their ticket timing to prepare for the trip.
Some capsules will be turned into dining halls for up to 12 guests, available for rent for special occasions; and 6 capsules will each feature a bar of its own. External food will not be allowed.
In addition, one of the wheel’s legs will serve as a rope climbing platform — also the highest in the world, with a height of 150 m. At the base of the Ain Dubai, an entertainment zone will be located, featuring a giant LED screen installed on the wheel.
In January 2018 the enormous 210-meters high structure has taken its complete shape, as the final section of the circle had been installed. The attraction is scheduled to open later this year. The structure will include more than 9 000 tons of metal — almost a quarter more than the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Each one of the wheels 8 sections has about the same weight as two Airbus 380 airliners.
The giant wheel is being constructed on Bluewaters Island, along with another infrastructure. Bluewaters Island is planned as one of the main tourist hubs in Dubai. Apart from Ain Dubai, it will feature 10 apartment buildings, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, and a bazaar.
