The Pursuit of Expression is a bilingual public performance where the flavor and flair of Hindustani classical music will dialogue with a poetry performance. Joy of Urdu, a bilingual organization that aims to facilitate and enable the ongoing revitalization of the Urdu language, presents three literary masterpieces penned by Sanaullah Sani Dar ‘Miraji’, a bohemian, modern Urdu poet from the early 20th century, who championed Urdu free verse.
Reading poetry will be accompanied by the classical flute player Haider Rahman. The musician is a student of Pandit Harri Prasad Churrasiya and enthralled the audiences earlier this summer at the Lahore Literature Festival in New York.
