Running between January 22 to March 20, Short+Sweet Theatre feature 125 short and exciting tales, a challenging semi-final and a spectacular final.
Distinctive by the runtime of its plays – exactly 10 minutes long for each – Short+Sweet is truly a biggest little theatre around. All plays have been written by remarkable writers from all over the world, including enthusiastic thespians from the local theatre community. They also feature some of Dubai’s most well known actors performing some of the best local and international scripts!
Artistic Director and Co-Founder of The Junction, Gautam Goenka stated:
‘Short+Sweet is one of the most exciting events on the calendar of Dubai theatre and we’re really excited to see it back for its ninth year despite the challenging times around the world and challenging times here.’

Contenders plays: Every Friday and Saturday from January 22 to February 27 at 7:30 PM. On February 5 and 6 it’s regional language week and the following week, February 12 and 13 it’s Shakespeare week.
Challengers plays: The plays take place every Saturday from January 23 to February 27 at 2.30 PM. On February 6 it’s regional language week and the following week, February 13 it’s Shakespeare week.
Judge’s Choice Semi-Final Weekend: The plays take place on March 5 at 7:30 AM and March 6 at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
People’s Choice Semi-Final Weekend: The plays take place on March 12 at 7:30 AM and March 13 at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
Gala Finals: The dates are March 18, 7:30 PM, and March 19, 7:30 PM.
Red Carpet Gala Finals (including the Awards Ceremony): Saturday, March 20, 7:30 PM.
