The Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF) is a fun-packed, entertainment-filled 11 days of discovery, creativity and excitement. Some of the world’s best children’s authors will descend upon the Sharjah Expo Centre, reading their popular works and meet their fans; alongside more than 120 international and local publishers who will offer their books for sale.
The aim of SCRF is to promote a love of reading amongst young and old, showcase Arab literature to the world and give illustrators and artists alike the chance to feature their intricate works.
SCRF also provides a great place for fellow authors and publishing houses/publishers to network and interact. A whole host of special awards ceremonies are held during the Festival, including the Sharjah Children’s Books Awards and the Sharjah Award for Specially-Abled Children’s Books, as well as the prize giving held during the Sharjah Exhibition for Children’s Books Illustrations, held in parallel with SCRF every year.
