Never before seen in the UAE, contemporary dance meets live electronic music by award-winning choreographer Wayne McGregor and electronic music innovator JLin. Autobiography features ten dancers and takes inspiration McGregor’s own genetic makeup and the recollections that have played an important part in his life to explore the body as a living archive.
Two nights only – ten outstanding dancers + dazzling high-tech lighting + live electronic music. A cycle of choreographic portraits based on McGregor’s genomic sequence, illuminated through dance + live electronic music.
What does it mean to write your own life story? For twenty-five years, Wayne McGregor has been making choreography that interrogates life through the experience of the body, moving intelligently in space and time. His practice has been far-reaching and sought out collaborators from a diverse range of artistic and scientific fields to investigate the nature of embodied cognition.
