Observing fasting during the month of Ramadan, with the right approach to eating, makes it possible to obtain benefits for physical health. But mental well-being while fasting can also have a beneficial effect.

Observing fasting and other practices during Ramadan allows you to do something similar to reloading your psyche. By adhering to certain rules for a long time, believers can strengthen their volitional sphere. Partial rejection of food and other pleasures helps to control habits. If necessary, get rid of those that you consider pernicious. Also, a number of practices to control negative thoughts and actions prescribed during Ramadan will help increase the stability of the individual, improve self-perception, reduce stress and bring back to the normal emotional state.

 

Many fasting people note that their state of mind and soul has improved after a month of self-restraint. Ramadan teaches believers to endure difficulties and overcome obstacles, developing such an important quality as patience and perseverance. These qualities are then transferred to everyday life and the various difficulties that are its integral part, are experienced easier and a person can more easily control all negative emotions and impulses. As a result, after finishing a month of trials, a person can become much stronger and at the same time happier than he was before. It is also important that spiritual development, approaching God, and strengthening on the spiritual path contributes to the improvement of emotional well-being and inner peace and tranquility.

Dua

O Allah, on this day, bestow on me the blessings of Laylat al-Qadr, change my affairs from (being) difficult to (being) easy, accept my apologies, and decrease for me [my] sins and burdens, O the Compassionate with His righteous servants.
