Hiking at Shamal Village

Two sessions of team hiking at sunrise and sunset will take place at a designated spot on December 2.

Shamal village is located in the foothills of Jabal Jais. Exploring a newly scouted route can be a great option to see sunrise or sunset from mountains. The trip will include flat and bouldering sections as well as a rocky ridge trail, which means that plain sneakers or trainers are strongly not recommended.

Both beginners and advanced hikers are welcome. An experienced guide will be provided during the sessions. The trek will be taken twice: at 05:45 AM – 09:30 AM and 02:00 PM – 05:30 PM.

Required items:

• hiking boots with ankle support;
• a rucksack with chest and waist straps;
• the minimum of 3 liters of water, snacks;
• lightweight trekking clothes;
• head torch;
• hat, sunscreen, sunglasses;
• ziplock bag, wet wipes.

An off-road car is not required. The exact location of the meeting point will be given through WhatsApp after the registration is complete. The hikes are done in a responsible and organized way with complete regard for the safety and health of every individual that is taking part.

In adherence to COVID-19 protocols, masks will be mandatory and distance will be kept among members during the hike.
