This online exhibition under the title of “Ogamdo: 5 Scenes of Korean Art” can be viewed from the five different perspectives – “new tradition”, “city montage”, “reconstruction of culture”, “everyday affair” and “the landscape through the mind’s eye”.
The main goal is to show the original Korean sentiment through different aspects, from traditional Korean life to the present day, where mixed cultures and states of mind living in this fast-paced country are now observed.
The exhibition counts around 40 pieces of work from 14 Korean artists who are currently popular both at home and abroad. These artworks will unleash the Korean artistic spirit combining the feeling of uniqueness and universality. The Korean sentiment within Korean contemporary art is being evolved and developed “here” and “now”.
This virtual exhibition is brought in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Korea-UAE diplomatic relations and in collaboration with Manarat Al Saadiyat, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, and Ministry of Culture and Youth of the United Arab Emirates.
