One goal of the TDC Conservation Project is to research and monitor our local species in Dubai and on the East Coast.
During the two days, we will be offering divers and non divers two Project AWARE courses, AWARE Shark Conservation and Sea Turtle Awareness.
AWARE Shark Conservation
The goals of this course are to inform divers and non divers of the value of sharks to marine ecosystems, the causes of declining shark populations and help dispel misconceptions. This will help inspire us to take action and protect sharks.
Includes:
Divers: A classroom presentation, two open water dives and PADI Distinctive Speciality certification.
Non-Divers: A classroom presentation and program participation certificate.
Prerequisites:
Diving: Certified PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent from another training organisation.
Age: 12 years old.
Sea Turtle Awareness
In this course we introduce knowlodge and skills to identify sea turtles and record sightings. With an abundance of turtles on the East Coast and the number of divers/snorkelers in the water, we will be able to better conserve our local turtle population.
Includes:
Divers: A classroom presentation, two open water dives and PADI Distinctive Speciality certification.
Snorkelers: A classroom presentation, two snorkel dives and program participation certificate.
Prerequisites:
Diving: Certified PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent from another training organisation.
Age: 10 years old.
With background knowledge we can continue to monitor our local species by arranging observation dives throughout the year.
