On 11th of May, Red Bull Music Academy teams up with HOUSEofAFRIKA to present South Africa’s acclaimed dance music duo Black Motion live at Bridgewater Tavern in the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai.
Black Motion’s percussion-driven electronic dance productions and high-energy live shows have established the duo as one of South Africa’s most exciting dance music acts. DJ Murda (Robert Mahosana) and percussionist Thabo ‘Smol’ Mabogwane had been making music separately for years before they teamed up in early 2010, going on to light up dance floors around their homeland and to work with big names, including DJ Oskido, DJ Mthi, QT and award-winning vocalist Bantu Soul.
For nearly two decades, Red Bull Music Academy has been bringing renowned producers, composers and performers together with talented up-and-coming young artists for lectures, workshops and collaborative recording sessions around the world. Academy alumni include Lebanese indie veteran Zeid Hamdan, Egyptian electro artist Bosaina, Bahraini producer Cosmo and Lebanese producer ETYEN.
