Banksy has been active for many years, creating numerous street art pieces and earning an elite artist status, at the same time managing to keep its identity a secret. Such works as Girl with a Balloon, Flower Thrower and Mobile Lovers are famous throughout the World. Banksy’s art appears in mostly random, unusual locations – walls, corners, roofs, or even a carriage of the London Underground. His pieces often reflect the zeitgeist of the location, or a political message told through the eyes of animals or children.
Now, fans of the rebellious painter can see some of his most loved pieces on display in Dubai, as the traveling exhibition ‘The World of Banksy – The Immersive Experience’ comes to town. It is open for visitors at The Theatre, in the Mall of the Emirates, from April 5th up until June 30th.
A photography exhibition will be hosted within “The World of Banksy” exhibition. Philippe Bernaerts, a famous Belgian photographer will be presenting a series of documentary pictures about street and city atmospheres. Moreover, as a premier, Philippe Bernaerts will be working on a photography project dedicated to Dubai that will be shown for the first time during the exhibition
Featuring more than 120 unique original Banksy works, the frames and murals are displayed for all to enjoy.
