The West End version of the bestselling novel, The Kite Runner, will make its Middle East debut in Dubai this year. Finally, Broadway Productions will be showcasing the award-winning show at Dubai Opera. The director is Giles Croft, who adapts a tale to the big stage touring across the whole of Europe.
The story told by Khaled Hosseini is set in Afghanistan and narrates two friends’ lives. Set in Kabul, we see the contrast between a cheerful town in the midst of a kite flying tournament, before a terrible incident plunges them into a war zone.
The plot explores a variety of cultures and continents, following one man on his journey to confront his past as he seeks redemption. The play has incredible success in London’s West End at Wyndham’s Theatre and at the Playhouse Theatre.
