The Theatre will be screening its UAE premiere – documentary The Golden Harvest, which tells a story of a 6,000-year-old love story in which the filmmaker tries to understand the profound, often troubled, relationship between olive oil and the people of the Mediterranean, including her own father. The journey of food, love is taking to unexpected places as diversed cast makes feel involved in unraveling this tale.
Directed by Alia Yunis, it is a complicated romance that includes some of the poorest and most conflicted areas of Europe and the Middle East, finding our place in the world with a little bit of help from the keeper of our hearts and secrets. The movie was acclaimed by critics and collected several awards on movie festivals as “Official Selection” in Toronto, Boston, Chicago and “Best of the Best” in Minneapolis.
