The author of the play, the director, and the performer of the central role are the unsurpassed Renata Litvinova. “Cactus” is a story about love to the accompaniment of the musical compositions of Zemfira, specially written for this performance. The soundtrack contains 14 songs in total.
“I, the author, choose love as a miracle, as a fairy tale, giving me and my heroine omnipotence — over everything and, first of all, over life,” says Renata, describing her feelings and thoughts like a heroine.
Throughout the performance, Renata shines on stage in puffy Balenciaga dresses designed by her friend, the art director of the Balenciaga brand, Demna Gvasalia. These dresses are not special costumes for the production, but part of the latest couture collection of the fashion house, creating on stage the effect of being at a fashion show in Paris, immersing the viewer in an atmosphere of luxury and glamour.
