Art for All will provide “Citizen Jane: Battle for the City” film screening on October 31 at The Theatre.

The Theatre will welcome movie fans for the screening of the documentary movie in English – “Citizen Jane: Battle for the City” with a post-screening discussion. Directed by Matt Tyrnauer, the movie tells about the founding mother of the village preservation movement against urban redevelopment.

Jacobs was a leading figure in the field of urbanism and played a vital role in protecting America’s historic neighborhoods. This critically-acclaimed movie showcases the main clashes between activist Jane Jacobs and New York City’s “Master Builder” Robert Moses over Greenwich Village, a fight that ultimately influenced the nation.

*There will be a post-screening discussion with urbanist, historian, and architect Dr. Alamira Reem and creator of “The Culturist” art blog, Hind Mezaina.
