It all started with friends who played music on a Motta Maadi (means terrace) in Chennai holding and playing musical instruments. Now, they are on a live international gig and have thousands of followers and fans.
Badri Seshadhri, a sound engineer envisioned Motta Maadi Music or MMM from the simple idea of a few friends meeting up to sing and play songs for an audience that enjoys music as much as he does. His impromptu sets are what people enjoy and look forward to. He believes in having his shows at large auditoriums with no microphones which encourages an interactive show with the audience. This also gives the audience the opportunity to belt out their favorite songs and join along.
After completing their concert tour in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Coimbatore, the band is going to perform in Singapore, Malaysia, and Dubai this year. This band encourages the audience to join in, making them feel a part of the band itself.
Each performance has a new concept or theme to it, where the audience gets to “Spin the Wheel” on names of different famous artists, and the songs by the artist selected will be played. The audience can expect anything from Ilaiyaraaja songs to AR Rahman compositions.
These attractive music jamming sessions also provide the audience with the lyrics of the songs prior to the show which makes it easier for them to join along during the show! The show is set to air at the Theatre by Q2 this month in Dubai which is home to a lot of great entertainment and shows.
