Since the start of 2022, the United Arab Emirates’ public sector has been transitioned to a four-and-a-half-day working week. Later the same month, most of the private sector joined this work system. So what is important to know regarding working hours in the holy month of Ramadan.
During Ramadan, federal UAE government entities remain open from 9:00 am till 2:30 pm, Monday to Thursday and 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Fridays.
Mosques extend the late evening and post-midnight prayers.
School and office timings are reduced as Muslims abstain from food and water during the day.
Under the directives, up to 40 percent of government employees are allowed to work from home on Fridays.
Employees who have specific conditions for traveling or live far from their workplaces are given the priority for remote duties.
