UAE passport — prestige and opportunities for citizens - Coming Soon in UAE
17 September 2018

Over the past few decades, the face of the UAE has dramatically changed. Many professionals live and work here, and the airports of the country annually take in millions of tourists.

As for the UAE passport, every year it becomes more attractive for those considering to obtain the citizenship of the country. The rating of the most powerful passports — Global Passport Index — shows that the UAE passport is the ninth place among the passports of the countries of the world. If we compare this result with that which the country showed in 2017 – 24th place, or in 2016 – 27th, it can be concluded that the prestige of the citizenship of the country and the opportunities of its citizens for traveling around the world are rapidly growing. It is worth noting that a decade ago the UAE passport was not even included in the 50 first participants in the rating.

This indicator means that the government provides a large number of visa exemptions for its citizens. For today, a citizen of the United Arab Emirates can visit 157 countries without having to obtain a visa beforehand. In this case, to enter 112 countries visa is not needed, and at the entrance to the 45-country citizens of Emirates get a visa on arrival.

The first five places in the rating look like this:
1. Singapore;
2. Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Norway, Netherlands, South Korea and United States;
3. Italy, France, Greece, Portugal, Japan, Ireland and Canada;
4. Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Hungary and United Kingdom;
5. Czech Republic, Malta, Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia.
