Originally built for Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamad Al Qasimi in the late 19th century, the beachside Bait (‘House’) was restored and opened as a museum in 1999. With carved wooden doors, decorative stucco and a variety of traditional Islamic collectibles, it is one of the most beautiful heritage houses in the UAE.
Featuring barjeel (wind towers) and a central courtyard, the Bait gives a sense of what life was like more than a century ago. The eastern section includes the traditional majlis (sitting hall) once used for receiving male guests, while the western section was designed as living quarters.
Bait Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamad Al Qasimi is located in Kalba on the east coast, situated along the Corniche at the end of the park, opposite Al Hisn (Kalba Fort).
