Founded in 1968, Al Ain Zoo (also called ‘Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort’) is a true family destination, providing entertainment and learning experiences in a natural outdoor environment. Among the wide variety of species living the the Al Ain Zoo, there is a rare white lion, a Nubian giraffe, spotted leopards, crocodiles, giant turtles, hippos, many species of rare birds in the aviary, and a even a colony of penguins.
Since its founding, Al Ain Zoo has been a center for endangered species conservation, most notably the successful breeding of desert antelopes and gazelles, such as the endangered Arabian Oryx.
