Driving along Al Khail Road, you can’t help but notice huge amounts of development going on.
Now there’s going to be evenmore and it’s pretty exciting news for people who live in JVT, which has proved popular with residents because of its lower rents and links with New Dubai.
Property developer Nakheel has just signed a contract worth AED 1.5 billion to build an entertainment and retail hub on nearby Al Khail Avenue.
At two million square foot, the mall project is going to pack in A LOT of shops – 350 to be exact – plus food and entertainment outlets, so we can hope to see lots of big names brands and great places to eat.
The developer announced this week that the complex will include a 252-room hotel that links with Al Khail Avenue.
We don’t know what hotel chain could be coming to the site, but the hotel will be the 18 storeys, with an all-day restaurant, coffee shop, lounge, outdoor terrace, pool deck and fitness club.
It’s already been agred that people living in JVT will get discounts on gym membership, which is great news for its community of nearly 13,000 homes.
Bad news – we’re going to have to wait until early 2019, when the project is set to be finished.
Will it be worth the wait? Well, 70 per cent of Al Khail Avenue has already been leased and confirmed outlets include a 14-screen Reel Cinemas complex and a Waitrose supermarket.
Oh, and no parking woes – the development will include a 4,000-space multi-storey car park which can be accessed directly from Al Khail Road.
