The giant eco-dome, The Green Planet, is set to open on September 1 at City Walk in Dubai, allowing visitors to step foot into a completely different biome stocked with over 3,000 plants and animals.
Scheduled to open in the first half of 2016, The Green Planet is set to inspire people to learn about and care more for plants and animals.
Within The Green Planet, a green canopy will cover the lush tropical vegetation, recreating the natural habitat of species and giving visitors a glimpse into the beauty of another world.
The bio-dome will seamlessly integrate exhibitions and displays that encourage visitors to explore the inner workings of the ecosystem. The building also includes a giant 25-metre tree, which is the largest indoor man-made and life-sustaining tree in the world.
The encounters with plants and animals will motivate children to learn facts, while at the same time instill respect for the intricacy and fragility of the environment.
The Green Planet will also offer a total of 15 educational programmes across five topics and three age groups (3–6 years, 7–11 years and 12–14 years), that are inspired by the learning objectives of the Ministry of Education.
The highly engaging programmes have been introduced to instill responsibility and a collective awareness of the environment among students.
Admission: Adult – AED 75, Child – AED 35
