On August 31, Cinema Akil will provide online CineTalks of “Symphonies of the Self” with Tarik Omar.
CineTalks will feature film discussion of the documentary “SYMPHONIES OF THE SELF” and the talk session will be facilitated by electronic musician, curator and DJ, Tarik Omar.
Directed by Saleh Nass, the movie tells about the Bahraini oud player and composer, Majeed Marhoon. “Symphonies of the Self” is more than a story of a musician, it is more a unique music production framed to observe and preserve the works of the influential late Bahraini composer, political activist Majeed Marhoon.
There will be a limited number of participants about the film cine-club style virtually via Zoom. Participants will be selected on a first-come-first-seated basis. Once selected as a participant, you will receive the Zoom link and an email with instructions, also discussion will be streamed YouTube channel simultaneously for those who wants to join.
