Several sports tournaments are taking place on Kite Beach at Jumeirah over July 31 & August 1.
Dubai Sports Council organizes beach sports competitions including Esperia Beach Volleyball Tournament for Ladies and Mixed Teams and the Super Sports Beach Tennis tournaments. Beach sports lovers will see the competition of different events taking place at Kite Beach in Jumeirah.
Esperia Beach Volleyball Tournament
The competition has been sectioned off into three categories:
• 2×2 (ladies);
• 2×2 (mix);
• 4×4 (mix) – at least two players in each team must be female.
The Esperia Volleyball Tournament at Beach Sports Week will take place from 06:00 PM to 11:00 PM on:
• Friday – July 31, 2020;
• Saturday – August 1, 2020.
Beach Tennis Tournament
Beach Tennis differs from lawn tennis, in that the ball is not allowed to touch the ground following most of the rules and scoring of lawn tennis (15/30/40). Instead, it must be kept up through volleys and smashes. The Beach Tennis Tournament will also take place from 07:00 AM to 09:30 AM on:
• Friday – July 31, 2020
• Saturday – August 1, 2020
AirBadminton Tournament
AirBadminton has been adapted to be an outdoor version of the original sport, using a special shuttlecock called ‘AirShuttle’, which can be used in winds up to 12km per hour. This tournament will take place on July 31.
Also on Friday and Saturday will be a six-team FootVolley Tournament, organized with AFC Sports Academy. The matches are open to both men and women and will be played from 07:00 AM until 09:30 AM.
