Residents and tourists can welcome the new year at the Sheikh Zayed Festival with a spectacular firework show spanning over 35 minutes long, breaking two Guinness World Records during that time. This colorful display will break the record for the length of the show and for showcasing the world’s first longest “Girandola” show. ‘Girandola’ is the Italian word for a spinning, flying, firework wheel. There will also be other activities such as live performances, laser shows and more.
The Sheikh Zayed festival is a global cultural festival held annually in Abu Dhabi that will run till February 20, 2021. It has grand pavilions and exhibitions of UAE heritage that highlight the history and union of the UAE, food stalls showcasing local and international culinary talent. The festival usually welcomes more than a million visitors from multiple nationalities and it includes major events suitable for all ages.
