This inaugural exhibition curated by Sasha Bogojev, curator and contributing editor at Juxtapoz Magazine will present a variety of all-new, unseen and original displays of 17 artists from all over the world. Founded in 2020 by Rom Levy, Volery Gallery promotes artists whose art is best described as the New Contemporary Wave.
Established in Dubai, the gallery will feature the most prominent international artists. Through collaborations with various galleries and curators, Volery aims to offer the Middle East exposure to the latest happenings in the global contemporary art world.
This will revolve the work of Ojo Ayotunde; Ana Barriga; Pablo Benzo; Matt Bollinger; Deborah Brown; Mathieu Cherkit; Modou Dieng; Daniel Heidkamp; Yuichi Hirako; Jordy Kerwick; Sally Kindberg; Andrés Lozano; Alexis Ralaivao; Andy Rementer; Fabian Treiber; Ivana De Vivanco and Guy Yanai in the theme of environment and mankind living in confined spaces.
The past year’s pandemic certainly changed the course of our development, affecting every aspect of human activity, including the “creation of visual, auditory, or performing artifacts”, also known as art. These artists and more will present their work of art that is inspired by the current situation that people are in such as the pandemic, lockdowns, quarantine, confinements, and social distancing and how it has impacted art.
With the hope that the coming months will allow us all to switch our focus back beyond our doors and windows, Domesticity is symbolically marking this historic moment in time and the way it affected our eternal need to capture and express ourselves.
Opening Reception: March 15, 2021, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
