The company was founded on April 1, 2008, by Broadway veteran Mina Liccione and trail-blazing comedian Ali Al Sayed. As award-winning producers of festivals and international events, Dubomedy were recently involved in the Dubai Comedy Festival as curators to the event.
Producing international shows such as Dubai Comedy Cargo and Straight Outta Dubai in Toronto to Empire State of Comedy in New York; not to mention the 7 HER-storical seasons of Funny Girls – the first all-female stand-up troupe in the MENA Region. Dubomedy presents top-notch entertainment and original comedy content around the globe.
2015 saw Dubomedy has launched Autism Smiles UAE – a project very close to their heart. A comedy club for youth on the spectrum and children with other special needs, students learn an array of circus skills, musical comedy, joke telling, physical comedy routines, laughter yoga, magic and more. They also organize a tour of refugee camps in Jordan consisting of comedy arts workshops and performances three to four times per year with their long-standing Clowns Who Care initiative.
