The AED 12 billion megaproject, Yas Bay is forging ahead to be a new iconic destination in the south of Yas Island. The area includes housing for 15,000 individuals, 19 parks, retail space, leisure and entertainment zones, a waterfront and pier with 37 food and beverage outlets.
Yas Bay is promising to become one of the UAE’s most iconic and vibrant waterfront destinations offering a wide range of entertainment options including restaurants, hotels and a state-of-the-art multi-purpose arena. There will be a new indoor arena – Etihad Arena, a first-of-its-kind multi-purpose indoor entertainment venue.
It was stated that Etihad Arena will be a “zero plastic” venue. The fins of the facade reflect the sun, reducing the air-conditioning requirement, and the building’s design won the “sustainable building design of the year” at the Middle East and North Africa green building awards last year.
The destination will include a waterfront promenade and a pier with more than 50 cafés and restaurants, 20 retail outlets, a cinema, a beach club, and two hotels (The Hilton Yas Bay Hotel and another “lifestyle-oriented hotel brand”).
