The National Aquarium, the ME’s largest aquarium with a water tunnel and rehabilitation center, will welcome visitors in 2021.

As a part of the Al Qana project on Khor Al Maqta, the National Aquarium will be the largest in the Middle East’s spreading 5,000 sqm and feature 10 aquatic zones, and work alongside the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) to create a rehabilitation scheme.

In addition to showing off local marine life, there will be plenty of exotic creatures too, some friendly. There will be around 250 species of fish, birds, amphibians, arachnids and reptiles, live underwater shows and a huge walk-through tunnel.

The National Aquarium will house 33,000 marine animals when it opens. The aquarium will focus on conservation, with an entire department of the museum dedicated to education and will have over 60 educational exhibitions, as well as live-feeding sessions.
