Dubai-based Cinema Akil presents the French documentary “The Beaches of Agnès” screened with English subtitles, offering everyone an opportunity to see the world as Varda did in this 2009 César Award-winning masterpiece.
This movie takes viewers through a prolific film of director and artist Agnès Varda’s life, career, and creative philosophy. Made when she was 80 years old, the autobiographical documentary reflects on the Belgian-born French talent’s life and a way to fame.
From the North Sea beaches of Belgium where Agnès spent her childhood to the Mediterranean village where she shot her first film to the boardwalks of Los Angeles, this movie will show the brightest memories and the most important stages that developed Varda as personality and director.
