The Stranglers are a British punk rock band, who formed in 1974 in Guildford, Surrey, England. They were originally called the Guildford Stranglers.
They had major mainstream success with their single “Golden Brown”. Their other hits include “No More Heroes”, “Peaches”, “Always the Sun” and “Skin Deep“.
Starting out as a punk rock band, their sound evolved over the decades to include genres like gothic rock, new wave, synth and pop. The band celebrated its 40th birthday in 2014, with a tour of the UK and Europe.
Even though band members have been ever changing since the 1970s, two of the original line up, Jean-Jacques Burnel and Dave Greenfield will take centre stage when they play at The Irish Village.
