Sir Bu Nair Environmental Heritage Festival will take place on Sir Bu Nair Island in Sharjah from 11th to 13th of May, 2017.
The festival will include traditional and heritage activities, including traditional diving, an exhibition and contests.
The first festival of Sir Bu Nair was organized in 2000.
Sir Bu Nair Festival is one of the most important environmental events among the environmental awareness campaign plan to preserve the marine and coastal areas.
This festival is usually organized in line with the annual Dhow Sailing festival (Al Goffal) in collaboration with Dubai Marine Club, Emirates Marine Environment Group and an executive committee of Sharjah which represents the Sharjah Police General Headquarters, Sharjah Municipality, Commerce and Tourism Development Authority and Sharjah Media Corporation.
The ones who participate in this festival are the few remaining ancient divers, heritage lovers, lovers of the sea and marine sports enthusiasts.
