“Nouvelle Vague” is translated as “new wave”, referring to the French New Wave cinema movement. Led by Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux, Nouvelle Vague released their first album in 2004, with renditions of Punk and New Wave hits reinterpreted by female singers in the dreamy style of the 50s and 60s Bossa Nova, with lush arrangements and entrancing vocals.
Nouvelle Vague are now celebrating their fifteenth anniversary with an international unplugged tour in 2019 keeping with the band’s original 2004 format: an acoustic guitar, a few keyboards, a smattering of ambiance, and two singers Mélanie Pain and Elodie Frégé performing the band’s iconic songs.
