Founded in 1904, The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) has gained global recognition and now is considered as one of the world’s top orchestras. The main stage of the LSO is at the Barbican in the City of London, where musicians perform over 80 concerts every year.
They have played on more than 200 soundtrack recordings for the cinema, of which the best known include the Star Wars series. Also as a self-governing body, the orchestra selects the conductors with whom it works. This evening, Valery Gergiev will be a conductor to perform the violin concert with Janine Jansen.
