Kamal Musallam is a well-known maestro, who plays the oud and guitar with a specific style made of original compositions and re-arrangements. Kamal mixes traditional, folk Arabic or Jazz songs into a new Fusion personal style. Having released 3 albums and toured all around the globe, Kamal also played an essential role in developing new hybrid instruments that could play Arabic music.
After his 20-years research in the Arabic music heritage and traditions aimed to highlight the elements, that could be tangible when heard by the western ear, Kamal started performing the Arabic quarter-tone (the Sika) and using electric guitars. This performance is to entertain and educate the listeners about this relatively new kind of sound and share with the audience the artist’s unique sense of music.
