Dubai-based Cinema Akil presents the 2016 German comedy-drama “Goodbye Berlin” telling about the summer escape of two teenage outsiders from Berlin to East Germany. Well-acclaimed in Germany, this movie is an entertaining ride that is full of adventures, cherished as the two friends get into all sorts of trouble and even a little romance.
The film directed by Fatih Akın is a complete road movie which takes viewers to that 14-year-old time when the summer trip with neither a phone nor a map sounds like a good idea. The boys will learn about self-confidence, mutual friendship and the excitement of youthful love riding a stolen car to East Germany. The film won several awards at the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema and the Havana Film Festival.
