The Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon is one of the most popular races in the Middle Eastern region. Every year it attracts about 30,000 runners from across continents. Since 2000, it has held its position as the world’s richest running event in history for offering one million dollars to anyone who can make a world record on the route (a prize unclaimed though closely contended for).
The start and finish of the Marathon and 10km race will be on the Umm Suqeim Road opposite the Madinat Jumeirah and in the shadow of the iconic Burj Al Arab. Both these starts will be at the Madinat Jumeirah end of Umm Suqeim Road. The 4km will start off the Umm Suqeim Road on Al Sufouh opposite the Madinat Jumeirah. All the finishes will be at the Dubai Police Academy end of Umm Suqeim Road.
