Dubai Design Week 2020

Dubai Design Week 2020 comes with its sixth edition taking place on 9-14 November.

As the regular annual festival, Dubai Design Week will represent the latest trends in the design, architecture, products, furniture, and interior design. The festival is a platform for young regional talent, international studios, and artists which gathers them to share the ingenuity with local communities.

This year united designers and artisans with one goal to create art pieces using materials that are sustainable or sustainably sourced, which means smart design and functionality in one object displayed on such events as:

Global Grad Show

The Global Grad Show will present more than 100 works of the most innovative universities in the world. The university graduates and professors will show their results addressing current global challenges faced by people.

Downtown Design

Downtown Design – the largest exhibition and sale of designer works in the region. “The Shape of Things to Come” is the exhibition’s main topic, which will represent designers’ thoughts on how we will work, live, and play in a post-pandemic world.

Abwab

Abwab will feature the Fata Morgana exhibition – a series of seating components and seven pillars that symbolize each of the Emirates, offered by Iraqi designer, Hozan Zangana.

The event is held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.

Dubai Design Week Marketplace

More than 60 invited vendors will offer some of the best of Dubai’s artisans, creatives, entrepreneurs, small businesses and food scenes. The marketplace will feature a selection of merchants offering original products in fashion, jewelry, homeware, beauty, lifestyle, and food, which are made by local artists.

Talks

The renowned speakers will provide discussions related to Speculative and Critical Design methodologies, Equal Representation in the design communities, Collective responses to Crises, Design Thinking.

UAE Designer Exhibition
