Dubai Design Week returns for its fifth edition on 11-16 November.

Dubai Design Week is the largest creative festival in the Middle East, being held annually as well as in the year 2019. It covers culture, design, architecture, education, and entertainment, engaging both residents and visitors of the UAE country.

The six-day festival unites international media, brands and design-enthusiast with the bespoke and inspiring creations of regional artisans. Its diverse program represents more than 200 events, with the majority of being free to attend and accessible for both industry and public.

One of the main events is Downtown Design – the largest exhibition and sale of designer works in the region, in which local and foreign brands display limited collections and original concepts. Moreover, this event will host country-specific exhibitions led by the trade initiatives of Italy, Spain, France and Malaysia, as well as design professionals talks and workshops.

The other grand event is the Global Grad Show, a showcase of the works – 150 social impact innovations – created by graduates from 100 universities across the world. There, you will have a chance to interact with top graduate talents discussing ingenious solutions in the fields of health, social care, disabilities, biodiversity, water pollution, farming and sustainable cities.

Finally, the Abwab exhibition. Abwab translates as ‘doors’ in Arabic. This event is dedicated to commissioning work from across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. This year, the designers will recreate their cultures as the local classrooms. The visitors will have an opportunity to visit pavilions of Eastern Provinces of Saudi Arabia, India, and Lebanon.

The Dubai Design Week 2019 is held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.
