Dubai Canvas & 3D Artworks at City Walk

From July 28 to August 31, top international and local muralists will be creating 3D works titled “Travelling through Art” at City Walk.

For an entire month, from the first day of Eid Al Adha, City Walk is staging the Dubai Canvas project with live 3D artworks – a series of live art events and exhibits by acclaimed artists. Dubai Canvas includes workshops and musical performances to help artists and performers interact with the public.

Additionally, Dubai Canvas at City Walk will showcase an international street artist, Juandres Vera who will create 3D artworks on the floor of the mall’s indoor courtyard. Spanish 3D artist and Guinness World Record holder, Juandres is famed for his paintings with optical illusions. Vera combines classic street art with his own style of realism and immersive aesthetics.

Alongside Vera, UAE-based artist Milan Katanic will perform a live display of Pendulum Painting each weekend, with audiences able to watch as swings paint from a pendulum device instead of a paintbrush to produce unique artworks. Combining science and art, this calligraphy project offers a unique experience for the public with shifting lines, shapes, colors, and movements.

Also, City Walk will welcome a talented artist, Yaroslava Deeb, who will surprise viewers as she uses sand, glitter, and a projector to produce frames of live art that appear animated as she draws intricate lines and images.

UAE-based artist, Mahra Al Falahi will captivate with 3D artworks based on the main theme of the year “Travel Through Art”, bringing to this year’s edition her inspirational utopian perspectives on the world. Mahra has been a participant in Dubai Canvas since its 2018 edition held in La Mer.

Ahmed Al Mahri is one of the UAE’s most accomplished calligraphic artists, will create contemporary calligraphic murals and host an interactive calligraphy show. The artist will lead a live performance that will showcase his craftmanship and give the public deeper insights into the classic and timeless art form.
