3MA: Ballaké Sissoko, Driss El Maloumi and Rajery is a unique ensemble from North Africa, representing classical music. The trio of string musicians is known for their distinguished blend of African and Arabic music, resulting in something completely unusual in sound.
In 2006, when the Malian kora player Ballaké Sissoko met Moroccan oud maestro Driss El Maloumi and Malagasy ‘prince of the valiha’ Rajery, they could have given up after a few concerts and a final recording. However, the mesmerizing tremor that rose out of their instruments when they first performed together still resonates today.
