Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai closes three metro stations on the green line – Al Ras, Palm Deira, and Baniyas Square.

According to the statement, the stations will be closed for two weeks. These actions have been taken to combat the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). RTA tweet says that such action was undertaken «in line with precautionary measures to ensure the highest levels of health and safety».

It was done after Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management announced increased restrictions on movement around the Al Ras area. The main goal of these restrictions is to reduce the number of contacts between people, which is the main reason for the spread of infection. People are asked to treat such necessary actions with understanding and to follow all government instructions. Since only by the joint efforts of the entire community it is possible to overcome all the difficulties that have arisen.

We previously reported that the Dubai Metro takes precautionary public health measures. A disinfection programme has also been launched throughout the country.
