A new project for the construction of the unique modern district of Uptown Dubai includes another grandiose structure, which the city is famous for.

It will be a tower, which, upon completion, will be the world’s tallest commercial tower. The final name of the tower has not yet been reported, it was previously called Burj 2020. The tower will become the heart and center of gravity of the whole district. This will be one of two supertall towers designed by architects Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill

The construction of the tower’s foundation has been completed for now. To complete this stage of development by contractor HLG it took about 12 000 cubic meters of concrete and 1500 tons of reinforcement steel. The construction is planned to be finished by Expo 2020. In the future, it will accommodate a 5-star hotel, high-end restaurants, luxurious living residences, entertainment areas and respectable offices.

The construction of the whole project is organized by DMCC, the strategic initiative of the Government of Dubai. The design of the tower construction project is handled by the Rockwell Group, a New York based architecture and design firm. “We are excited and honored to be part of the creation of the new Uptown Dubai district. We look forward to working closely with the DMCC to create a modern, luxurious and innovative hotel and residences that celebrate the vision of Uptown Dubai, “said David Rockwell from Rockwell Group.

In total, Uptown Dubai, which implements the concept of smart urban living, will comprise 7 towers, including 2 super high, and a central two-level plaza. The district will be combined with the Jumeirah Lakes Towers, and its total area will be about 10 million square feet.
